Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) eliminates distortion!
Quick history of pocket DAB radio
Pocket DAB radio uses the digital audio signal. The first DAB digital radio was launched by the BBC in 1995. DAB was born to overcome known problems with FM and AM radio signals, which can be badly effected by interferance and distortions from tall buildings, towers and trees. Pocket DAB radio is crystal clear in comparison, making use of the COFDM and MPEG formats which converts an analogue signal into a digital one. Digital Dab radio has been a huge success and there are now well over 1000 stations worldwide.
The big news came in 2007 when a newer, upgraded format was released call DAB+ which unfortunately is not compatible with the older DAB format, but is twice as efficient due to the implementation of AAC+ audio codec.
